Standard Pipe Services are experts in diverting water flow from sections needing repair or replacement. We can guide water flows through bypass pumping. Bypass pumping allows repairs with the least disruption to the population at large. Working in existing infrastructure exposes problems that SPS is well-versed in addressing. SPS has established plans for buildings, roads, and other structures to ensure minimal disruption. SPS is equipped to extinguish emergencies when repairing or maintaining storm or sanitary sewers.
The groundwater level and rainstorms dictate Storm Sewer water levels. Bypassing storm sewers requires sandbags to engineer a stopgap between the area of concern and the existing water entryway. If sandbags need further support, we may use a submersible or 3-inch trash pump to dewater the site. On the other end of the spectrum, if flows can be eliminated into the repair pipe, there is no need for a bypass.
Plug & Release
Sewers and sanitary systems are in a continuous state of flow. Therefore, bypasses are an essential element in pipe rehabilitation. Temporary pipelines, or lay flats, are placed from the pump downstream of the repair. The area determines what kind of bypass will be initiated. SPS has performed 3” bypasses to two 12” bypass pumps running consecutively.
Bypass Plugs
Bypass plugs allow for continuous flow and can be left in place for several weeks or removed daily after work has been completed for the day.
